Recent
advances in computers have resulted in affordable machines with modest
specifications. These budget computers are so powerful that owners possess
an entire music studio capable of instruction, composition, recording,
CD production, etc. Several commercial programs are available to accomplish
these task, most are cost prohibitive to both students and teachers. Fortunately,
several of these programs have “lite” versions that are more
powerful than even the full featured software developed a few years ago.
